A CEILIDH in Rosewell has produced 'reel' benefits for children in Malawi.
Esk Valley Rotary Club raised £1,034 from the event — enough to pay annual education costs for five children it has adopted in Chitipa in the south-east African country.

The club began a five-year sponsorship of the five children, then aged five, to mark its fifth anniversary in 2007.

Some 120 people danced the night away to the Gordon Clark Ceilidh Band.

The club's next fund-raising event, in which it is being assisted by Dalkeith Rotary Club, will be a casino night at the Masonic Hall in Newtongrange on Friday, March 13.

Call Maurice Jackson on 0131 663 3917 for details.
