Council should hang its head in shame

The council should hang its head in shame again caught out by the snow.

Roads treacherous, pavements too risky to walk on. Where is their health and safety now?

I live in Penicuik. It is like Alaska and these councillors do not give a damn so I say to the people of Midlothian – refuse to pay our council tax then maybe this council will treat us with respect and not give us a load of spin.

We had one snow plough on Wednesday, March 31. Thursday, April 1, I went for my papers. Pavements pure ice, main road no better, no buses.

But wait to the weekend and the whole council workforce will be working all hours for large chunks of overtime when this council is said to be skint. Again the councillor and manager should resign now.

They had plenty of warning these conditions were coming either there was no salt or they did not give a damn.

Either way they should pack their bags and leave. One time is bad, but twice is not good enough.

We will see a storm of yellow vests at the weekend for the overtime.
