Easter's true meaning
Please do not think that I am a holier than thou, but there is a big concern in Midlothian about the percentage of children who attend a church.
In Gorebridge, we have four lovely churches of different denominations and to be honest, only a small amount of our children attend church.
Easter Sunday on April 4 means to many children lovely big chocolate eggs and rolling the hard boiled eggs. Do any of them know what Easter really means?
I believe every primary school in Gorebridge teaches the true meaning but when they go home it stops there – a real crying shame.
How can our children attend church when parental guidance is nil?
I may be wrong, but if every person who considers themselves church worthy did indeed attend church, taking along the family, then I believe you may see the violence, theft and under-age drinking slowly subsiding.
Being a respectable person who attends church does not mean you are not allowed to enjoy the things you want to. I would like to make it clear, I am in no way criticising those who are non-believers.
Please enjoy your scrumptious chocolate egg and remember what Easter is all about.
