Find out more about farming in Midlothian

VISITORS will have a chance to learn about the science behind farming at a special event in Midlothian on Sunday.

As part of Open Farm Sunday (June 13), Easter Howgate Farm will be throwing its doors open to the public from 11am to 3pm. Admission is free and there will be ample parking.

The aim of the event, co-ordinated by LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming), aims to show what goes on behind the scenes of a local farm and showcase some of the research being carried out at Easter Howgate, which is run by the Scottish Agricultural College.

The farm, on the A702 Edinburgh to Biggar Road near Hillend, stretches over 1000 hectares from the ski slope on Caerketton over to Castlelaw and Turnhouse hills.
