Ghost hunters wanted for Anthony Nolan Trust fundraiser in Newtongrange
The Anthony Nolan Trust is looking for fearless ghost hunters to take part in a spooky sleepover at the infamous Lady Victoria Colliery at Newtongrange.
On Friday, November Friday 21 and again on Saturday, November 22, a strictly limited number of supporters are being invited to take part in the 'fearsome fundraisers with a difference' at the former Victorian colliery, which now houses The Scottish Mining Museum.
It is renowned as being one of the finest examples of a restored Victorian colliery in Europe.
Allan Johnston of The Anthony Nolan Trust said: "Will our supporters have the nerve to spend the night at the pit head or underground at the coal face, where the spirits of Mungo Mackay, the much-feared general manager of the Lothian Coal Company, and Jock Kane, the headless miner, still haunt the mine?
"Our celebrity medium is Simon Bacon, tutor at The College of Psychic Studies, London and star of The Edinburgh Ghost Watch, who will host a hugely entertaining evening of psychic ability."
The investigators, who will include The Borders Paranormal Group, will keep vigil for any signs of paranormal activity.
This is an unique chance to raise funds to help tackle leukaemia while taking part in an overnight investigation with an exclusive ghost and history tour.
Special equipment, said to sense supernatural activity will be used.
There are only 48 places available on each night of the spooky sleepover.
