Second class citizens

I know you have helped Janet Robertson regarding a crossing outside Pentland Park (Advertiser, March 18).

It was the same 25 years ago. I asked Midlothian District Council for a crossing when my children were young and was told, because there was no housing across the road, the answer was no.

Well, there are only two houses across from Bilston and that has two crossings.

It's not just the residents of Pentland Park, people going to Pentland Plants, Aaron Glen B&B, the cat and dog kennels and Nivensknowe Park.

When my daughter comes to visit me using her double buggy it is just impossible to cross the road as the island is too small.

We all feel like second-class citizens. We pay our council tax like everyone else and feel like we are being ignored.

Does there have to be an accident or a death before something is done? Even a zebra crossing is better than nothing.

Please ask Midlothian Council to reconsider their findings.
