Walking project on map

Maps of walking routes in and around the Mayfield and Easthouses area are being produced in a bid to encourage local residents to improve their health through walking.

Mayfield and Easthouses Development Trust (MAEDT) have been collaborating with Living Streets Scotland on a project aimed at promoting walking in the local community.

The group is currently mapping five local routes – which will be colour coded – and will provide information on the length of each walk, accessibility and difficulty

Pupils from Lawfield Primary School are busy putting their artistic skills to good use in designing front covers for the walking maps, which will show the things they like about walking.

For further information about the map project, contact Kirstie at Living Streets Scotland on 0131 243 2647 or email kirstie.henderson@livingstreets.org.uk
