Midlothian Community Artists holds its annual art exhibition in the Dalkeith Arts Centre this coming week, showcasing work by local artists.

Work by some of the group’s 20 artists will be on display at the free exhibition from Tuesday, September 2, to Friday, September 5, 10am to 4pm daily.

Daniel Burt, President of the Midlothian Community Artists said: “We have had our exhibition for a number of years now. For the last few years it was at Buccleuch Church, but this year we have been offered the arts centre which is better as it’s easier for people to get to. With a more central location we can get more interest.

“We welcome everybody, it’s free entry and you can see some great local art.

“The exhibition will cover most of what we do. And most of the items on display will be available to buy. We have got between 70 and 80 works on display this year.

“I’m really looking forward to it, we are just finalising everything, making up lists with the titles of the paintings etc.”
