DALKEITH: Dalkeith Town Council seem to favour a caravan site at Ironmills Park. At their meeting on Monday, Dean of Guild Tom McCann, who originally suggested the package, said they should give further consideration to the proposal after hearing from the Parks and Cemeteries Committee.
LOANHEAD: Midlothian District Council has accepted the deletion of land between Edinburgh and Loanhead from the Green Belt plans. Councillors were advised that the 13-hectare Burdiehouse site, to the north of Lang Loan, could be used for development.
PENICUIK: Fears that a forthcoming visit by a Penicuik Venture Scout to the 19th World Jamboree in Chile would be threatened by the detention of the country’s former leader General Pinochet have been dismissed.
