NEWTONGRANGE: The future of Newtongrange Community Centre is still in the balance. After weeks of negotiating it has been agreed that the Coal Industry Social Welfare Organisation should submit a report of their maintenance costs to Newbattle District Council and Midlothian Education Committee to see if they are eligible for a grant.
LOANHEAD: The problems of traffic congestion in Loanhead’s main street are to be tackled by local regional councillor Tam Darby who claims he has received many complaints from residents about indiscriminate parking in Clerk Street.
MIDLOTHIAN: Government cash amounting to £90,712 has been provided to help Midlothian Council meets pre-school education needs in the county.
