EASTHOUSES: The new £16,000 church hall at Easthouses was opened on Saturday by the Rev. J. B. Longmuir, chaplain to the Queen.

1989

DALKEITH: Dalkeith girl Karen McCurdy (18) is currently starring in a national advertising campaign after qualifying as one of the first female navel divers. The dental nurse qualified after completing a course at Portsmouth Naval Base.

1999

MIDLOTHIAN: Midlothian Council’s policy and resources committee has donated £500 to the Kosovo Appeal.
