1964

GOREBRIDGE: A pedigree pigeon, donated by Gorebridge fancier James Moffat of Mountskip Farm, fetched £10 at an auction in aid of the Children’s Society.

1989

DALKEITH: A row of former merchants’ houses in Dalkeith, which were threatened with demolition, have now gone on sale after an imaginative restoration. The houses in London Road have been restored to a high standard by the Lothian Building Preservation Trust.

1999

DALKEITH: Dalkeith is to lose its town centre police contact point by the end of the year. Based in Midlothian Council’s Buccleuch House, the contact point had failed to attract levels of business required to make it viable in the longer term.
