1965

BONNYRIGG: The £20,000 recently gifted to Bonnyrigg Town Council to go towards the cost of a new town hall will be used to provide the burgh with a swmming pool instead. The two brothers, who made the generous donation, Robert and William Young, have agreed to this decision by the town council.

1975

BONNYRIGG: Bonnyrigg Swimming Pool has been cordoned off to the public following discoveries that parts of the building may collapse at any moment.

1990

BONNYRIGG: Two council workmen who rescued a woman from a house fire have had their bravery recognised by Midlothian District Council. Ronnie Davidson and Bob Anderson dragged the woman from her smoke filled home in Moorfoot View, Bonnyrigg.
