1990

LOANHEAD: Proposals for the development and improvement of the former Ramsay Colliery site in Loanhead are to be supported by Midlothian District Council. Last year the council approached the Scottish Development Agency for funding.

1975

GOREBRIDGE: Gorebridge is to get 700 new houses, a primary school, a light industrial estate and a new shopping centre. And village eyesores, the Emily and Gore bings, are to be demolished.

1965

MIDLOTHIAN: The new extension to Newbattle Abbey College, which will provide 80 single study bedrooms for students, is expected to be completed in time for the beginning of the 1966 session in October.
