1965

DALKEITH: “Our town is in the midst of an exciting transformation.” So says Provost David R Smith in a message to the people of Dalkeith on the occasion of the official opening of Jarnac Court shopping Centre and the Council chambers this coming Saturday.

1975

DALKEITH: Part of Woodburn Community Centre in Dalkeith may be used as a canteen to serve employees and members of Midlothian District Council and Lothian Regional Council. But concerns have been raised that the canteen could interfere with the playgroups who also use the building.

1990

MIDLOTHIAN: This week the Advertiser becomes a part of history when this issue will be one of the items buried in a time capsule in the new district council headquarters to be built in Buccleuch Street, Dalkeith.
