1965

DALKEITH: Debate in Dalketh’s new Council Chamber on Monday covered a wide variety of topics from filling stations to unkept gardens and the delay in starting a nursery. The council are opposed in principle to permission for filling stations to be put up in Eskbank and Lauder Roads.

1975

ROSEWELL: Sister Veronica Macken of St Joseph’s Hospital, Rosewell, has celebrated 60 years service as a Sister of Charity. The Sister marked the occasion with a celebrations lunch following a Mass of Thanksgiving.

1990

DALKEITH: Traffic in Dalkeith town centre could be halved once the proposed A68 Dalkeith Northern Bypass is completed.
