1000 Midlothian folk join litter campaign

Almost 1000 people have signed up to give Midlothian a spring clean this year.

So far there are 15 local events registered with Keep Scotland Beautiful’s two-month flagship campaign. The aim is to get 200,000 people across Scotland cleaning up their favourite place between April 1 and May 31.

The National Spring Clean, which will blitz local litter spots, has attracted the support of 666 adults and 331 children across the county.

Keep Scotland Beautiful chief executive Derek Robertson said: “Without the commitment of the volunteers, who take part in National Spring Clean every year, Scotland would definitely be a dirtier place.”
