A school for children aged from three to 18 is being considered for Shawfair, where 3,990 houses are to be built.
In a report to the council by Mary Smith, director of education, communities and economy, at a recent full council meeting, it was revealed that the unique ‘3-18 school’ was an option.
She said: “There is a pressing requirement to come to a decision on the site for the new Shawfair High School in the very near future, and whether it needs to be sized to accommodate a 3-18 school.
“If the 3-18 school is employed at Shawfair, either Danderhall Primary School or one of the new primary schools could be co-located with the new Shawfair High School.”
