A brighter and happier environment is on offer at Mayfield After School Club following a major transformation.
Based at St Luke's Primary, the charity – which provides affordable, professional childcare, received a hefty £6,000 contribution from Councillor Katie Moffat's (Lab) Environmental Improvement budget.

The funding was put towards brightening up walls and ceilings, fitting new flooring and upgrading vital facilities.

Councillor Moffat told The Advertiser: "The organisation relies on funds from parents to keep the club operating and doesn't have much money to spare to refurbish the club, so I was more than delighted to help."

Play leader Lisa Craig said: "We would all at Mayfield After School Club like to take this opportunity to thank Councillor Moffat, John Clarke (Midlothian Council commercial services) and his team, and headteachers and staff from both St Luke's and Mayfield schools for their help during the refurbishment."
