'FACES' was the theme for this year's joint exhibition, held at Dalkeith Library recently by Midlothian Camera Club and Fotoclub Hückelhoven of Kreis Heinsberg.
The exhibition contained 60 images: 30 from each of the two clubs.
The photographic alliance has evolved since 2000 when a partnership was forged as part of the twinning of Midlothian with the German region.

Ten members of Fotoclub Hückelhoven ma
de a visit especially for the opening night on August 24.

The opening gala was also attended by members from neighbouring photographic clubs and the Scottish Photographic Federation. Macsence of Mayfield has sponsored the exhibition and members of its board were also present along with Councillor Bob Constable.

Provost Adam Montgomery presented the Jim Dickson Memorial Trophy for the best Midlothian entry to Karen Hastings, a long standing member of MCC.

The exhibition runs until September 8 and will then make a tour of the county's libraries in the following months.

It can been seen at Danderhall Library from September 10, Mayfield Library from September 24, Newtongrange Library from October 8, Bonnyrigg Library from October 22, Gorebridge Library from November 5, Loanhead Library from November 19 and finally Penicuik Library from December 3, spending two weeks at each library.

Midlothian Camera Club meets on Tuesdays at their premises at 7 Polton Road, Lasswade, from 7.30pm onwards. The new season opens on September 4 and all are welcome to come along, whether experienced photographers or novices, with a level to suit all.
