A Gorebridge school girl has scooped first prize in a competition on paper round safety.
Newbattle High pupil Vicki Lamb correctly answered ten questions on cycle and pedestrian safety in a quiz put together by the Lothian and Borders Police Safer Communities department.
Vicki, who works for Leslie's Paper Shop, received a £50 voucher to spend at Halfords' bicycle department in Straiton.
The initiative aimed to raise awareness of how delivery staff can keep safe while carrying out paper deliveries, particularly during the darker mornings and evenings.
Packs handed out to premises in Mid and East Lothian included a fluorescent tabard, wrist band, pens and leaflets with advice on how to stay safe.
Cycle Scotland and Ikea at Straiton donated a number of fluorescent tabards, while the remaining tabards were purchased with the assistance of the police and Midlothian Community Safety Partnership.
Craig Purves of Tranent won second prize – a bicycle accessory kit from The Bike Shed in Newtongrange – while third prize went to Bonnyrigg's Sophie Robertson, who won a cycle helmet from Law Cycles in North Berwick.
