A bid to bolster civic pride in Loanhead is to be made with the formation of a community development association.
Invitations have been sent to local groups and organisations to attend a public meeting in Loanhead Town Hall on Wednesday, December 3, at 7.30pm.

The meeting will also launch Loanhead 2020, a community consultation, which will start in the new year and form the foundation for the association's work.

The project is being spearheaded by Loanhead and District Community Council, Loanhead Gala Committee and Loanhead Miners' Youth Football Club with the support of the three Midlothian councillors.

The three community groups had joined forces earlier this year to oversee improvements to the Memorial Park, but soon realised that there were a number of other initiatives, which required attention across the town.

The three primary schools have been invited to design a Loanhead 2020 logo, which will be unveiled at the public meeting.
