Midlothian is the place to be for cats of a 'certain age'.
The Hospital for Small Animals to the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies has joined up with Edinburgh-based feline vet and author Dr Sarah Caney to hold the UK's first specialist geriatric cat clinic.

The specialist clinics take place at the Easter Howgate hospital on Saturday mornings and offer senior cats attending a complete health MOT.

The clinics aim to identify treatable problems, which are common in cats older than 10 years such as kidney disease, thyroid problems, arthritis, high blood pressure and dental disease.

Cats who attend will receive a thorough health check and tests. Owners will be provided with a full report, which will detail all results along with treatment recommendations.

Cat owners can download a copy of the referral form here - which must be completed by their vet.

For information, contact info@catprofessional.com or 0131 208 0298.
