A CALL has been made for cross-council talks to ensure a viable future for the Midlothian Snowsports Centre.
Lothians MSP Ian McKee (SNP) has said he will meet with Lothian councils and other sporting organisations in the region to try and find a solution for the under-threat cente at Hillend.

Midlothian Council is carrying out a review of the facility, which is operating on a £500,000 per annum loss.

Dr McKee has written to more than 200 constituents, who are seeking a positive outcome for the centre, reassuring them he will take action.

He said: "It would seem fairer to spread the responsibility amongst other councils in the area, though in the current financial circumstances the chances of persuading councils to enter into a new commitment may be very slim."
