MIDLOTHIAN'S two park and ride facilities have re-opened after being used as camp sites by travelling people.
The Straiton site was closed last week as travellers arrived ahead of the six-day Light and Life Gyspy Church event in Edinburgh.

The Sheriffhall office was closed briefly but the buses were still able to use the park and ride.

An Edinburgh City Council spokesman said the travellers left the Straiton site as expected on Friday.

"The first thing we did was give the area a deep clean and remove any litter. Plans are in place to put in security measures," he added.
