Midlothian's favourite names revealed

When it comes to choosing first names, Jack and Emily are the most popular with Midlothian parents.
A list, published by the Registrar General, reveals the most popular birth names in 2008.
Across Scotland, Jack has pushed last year's top boys' name, Lewis, into second place while Sophie remains the most popular girls' name nationally, with Emily in second place.
King and Princess
The top boys' names in Midlothian are: 1 Jack; 2 Lewis; 3 Aaron, Liam, Ryan; 6 Max; 7 Alexander, Jamie, Kyle; 10 Callum, Connor, Daniel, James, Mathhew, Owen.
Midlothian's top girls' names are: 1 Emily; 2 Erin; 3 Amy, Hannah, Katie, Olivia, Sophie; 8 Isla, Lucy, Rachel.
The biggest climbers in the national baby name charts were Kayden for a boy and Nieve for a girl.
However, there are some parents who like to be different. This past year has seen the birth of boys Casanova, King, J, Chance and T while there are girls called Ocean, Princess, Disney and Blessing.
