A Penicuik newsagent, which was the recent target of thieves, is to close.
The R S McColl shop in Kentigern Mall will be closing "shortly", a spokesman for the company said.
She explained: "It was financially unprofitable for us and the lease is about to run out.

"We have decided to walk away.
"We will make other job opportunities available to the staff members."
On July 2, the newsagent was broken into in an early morning raid and a quantity of cigarettes stolen from the display area.
The Somerfield supermarket, also in the Mall, was broken into twice around the same time and cigarettes were stolen.
R S McColl is part of Martin McColl, Britain's largest chain of newsagents, with more than 900 shops and more than 300 convenience stores.
More than 400 have Post Office facilities.
