Safety plea over Leadburn junction

A NEIGHBOURING local authority is urging Midlothian Council to take action over the Leadburn junction.
Members of Scottish Borders Council have unanimously agreed to write to Midlothian Council to seek its proposals and plans for improvements to the junction "as the continuing level of accident at the junction is unacceptable".

Scottish Borders Council also agreed that remedial action was required as a matter of some urgency.

There have been repeated calls from councillors and residents for improvements to the junction following a fatal road accident in January when Peebles pensioner Janet Spaven died.
