A PIONEERING system has given Newbattle Community High School the best academic results in its 42-year history.
The school set up academies to allow S3 pupils upwards to pursue their own interests and develop their talents on an unprecedented scale.

The system has been so successful that attainment levels are at a record level, the number of pupils staying on beyond S4 is at an unprecedented high and the number of pupils joining clubs or study groups after school is also at a peak.
