Arniston Rangers’ manager has paid tribute to his assistant coach and “best friend” Neil Brownlie, who died from a heart attack on Saturday.

The community club now plan to buy a defibrillator machine in honour of their coach who died aged 49.

Manager Stevie Osborne was still in shock at the sudden death of the married father of three, who joined the Gorebridge club in the 2011/12 season.

He said: “I find it quite hard, Neil’s been my best friend for many years. I’m still in shock.

“I just can’t thank him enough for all the support he gave me in football and outside the game too.”
