A man has been arrested and charged following a number of recent housebreakings in Penicuik.
As part of the ongoing Operation RAC, dedicated officers had been investigating three incidents at separate addresses in Vaucluse Place between August 3 and 27.
During each of these offences various items of property were stolen.
Following police inquiries, a 24-year-old man was detained in connection with all of the break-ins and subsequently charged. He will appear at court at a later date.
Detective Inspector Stevie Bertram said: “Tackling housebreaking continues to be a priority within Midlothian and as part of Operation RAC we regularly arrest those responsible for these offences and return stolen property to its rightful owners.
“The public can help us tackle housebreaking by ensuring their homes, outbuildings and businesses have the appropriate security measures in place at all times.”
