Two intrepid police officers are embarking upon a Far Eastern adventure to raise money for charity.
Midlothian-based police constables Iain and Cheryl McAlpine will set off for China on September 17 as they look to trek 60km along the Great Wall.
The husband and wife aim to raise £2000 for the Royal Blind charity as they endure steep and difficult terrains over the five-day walk.
So far, they have raised £1000 through various fundraisers including bake sales, raffles and bag packing within local stores.
The officers chose to support Royal Blind after being impressed by the level of care they provide to blind and visually impaired people in locally and across Scotland.
