Preparing for some home truths about their abode are Eskbank couple Gerry and Susan Goldwyre - who have taken part in a gameshow which sees contestants vie for the title of best pad.
And on the ITV programme, May the Best House Win, a man’s house can be his castle, an homage to the starship enterprise, a haven for gnomes or in the Goldwyre’s case - a custom built eco-house created with the help of imaginative school children.
The show sees the owners of some of Britain’s most interesting homes compete in a bid to win a £1000 cash prize.
Susan, a biologist, and architect Gerry, who is perhaps best known for his renovation of the historic Water Tower in Dalkeith, decided to take on the challenge.
The contestants score each other in secret, with homes judged on interior design, homeliness, comfort, the hospitality on offer and the overall viewing experience.
And at the end of each show, they all discover exactly what their fellow contestants thought of their home - and they won’t always like what they hear!
So will Gerry and Susan win the title of “Best House?” You will have to wait and see. The show will be screened on ITV 1 at 2pm on Tuesday (February 15).
