Attempted robbery in Gorebridge

Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of an attempted robbery at knifepoint at a newsagent on Main Street, Gorebridge.

No one was injured in the incident, which happened at around 9:30pm on Tuesday May 28.

The suspect is described as male, white, early to mid 20s, 5’ 7” in height, slim build, with a local accent.

He wore a black hooded top, grey coloured jogging bottoms and black trainers. His face was covered.

Police are appealing for any information that can assist in identifying the suspect and for anybody with any other information to come forward.

They are also looking to trace members of the public who were in and around the vicinity at the relevant time.
