Author chalks up the story of Dalkeith High

A fascinating evening awaits visitors to Dalkeith High School on Monday, November 10 when local historian Alan Mason will be giving a free talk to launch his new book, Up High – 100 years of Dalkeith High School.

Coinciding with Dalkeith High’s centenary year, the hour-long talk by Alan is to be held under the auspices of Dalkeith History Society, and promises to reveal some quirky tales and facts about the school.

When asked for a taster last week, he told the Advertiser: “Come along and find out about Dalkeith High’s contribution to the success of D-Day, or do you remember Big Mick and Wee Rusty? Or Jesse James and Hen Broon?”

Copies of Alan’s new book will be available at the 7.30pm event.
