For the second time in three years, Black Diamond FM has been shortlisted for a national award.

Earlier this month, three members of the “Heart of the Matter” team – Fiona Don, Ruth Aird and David Aird – attended the annual award ceremony organised by Jerusalem Productions to celebrate religious broadcasting.

Black Diamond FM was shortlisted in two categories this year - for long form and festivals. An edition of “Heart of the Matter” was included in the top six from 30 entries.

The Jerusalem Award judges highlighted “warm presenters and perfect for community radio”.

The second shortlisted piece “Waiting For Refugee Status” was produced by the production team at GRF and broadcast on BDFM’s “Heart of the Matter”. It won the section out of 26 entries.

The judges commented that the piece was “simple and understated, but very, very effective”.
