Midlothian Council employees, who have gone beyond the call of duty, have been praised for their hard work and efforts.

The local authority held the third annual Celebrate Midlothian recently which recognised and celebrates the achievements of council staff.

There were seven categories in total, including the Customer Service Award where nominations were received from members of the public. This was won by Louise Smith, who works as a Housing officer.

Louise was been nominated by several members of the public, and wins the award for her excellent service to the tenants of Newbyres Crescent, Gorebridge. Louise visits Newbyres Crescent every day and is always available for tenants wishing to speak to her.

The judging panel felt that she represented the council in a positive way, was able to build positive relationships with the tenants, ensured that she provided information and was able to listen and answer questions and concerns to set tenants’ minds at rest.
