On Sunday, a couple who married at Rosewell Church in 1946, returned to the church to mark their 70th wedding anniversary.

Donald (97) and Ruby Glasspool (92), made the trip north from Shropshire, where they have spent most of their married life.

After meeting in Loanhead, Don joined the Lincolnshire regiment and went off to France, Ruby was living in Rosewell at that time.
Don came out at Dunkirk but was then shipped out to Burma and didn’t come home again until 1946.

Don and Ruby then married at Rosewell Parish church.
