Beeslack Community High School held its first expressive arts show this month as the school gears up for its 30th birthday.

The show, which was organised by art and design teacher Sarah O’Neill, music teacher Graham McDonald and dance teacher Rachel Jones, showcased the creativity of pupils across the curriculum. Highlights included live music, a fashion and performance costume catwalk show and choreographed dance numbers.

Meanwhile, the Parent Council is organising a day of celebration on Saturday, June 6. It is hoped community groups will be involved as well as the school’s talented bands and the community choir. Former pupils will have an chance to share memories of the school. A Facebook page has been set up in advance of the special day as well as an email address - beeslackparentcouncil@hotmail.com
The council is keen for people to get in touch with their memories and old photos of Beeslack High.
Fundraising events will be held in the coming months to support the day of celebration.
