Birds set to flock to Loanhead show

Contestants will be flocking to Loanhead from all over the country in Saturday.

The entrants will be competing in Loanhead and District Cage Bird Society’s annual show, which will be held in St Margaret’s Church Hall.

The show will be open to the public from 1.30pm and 3.30pm. Society secretary Douglas Munro said a large field of entries was anticipated. “We are expecting entries from all over Scotland. We have already had entries from England and thre are definitely entries coming from Aberdeen.

“We like to think we will be getting 700 birds this year, which would be very good.” Mr Munro added that schedules had been sent out to potential new contestants. “We are hoping for a record turnout of birds.”
