Dobbies Edinburgh has announced its new local charity partner as Lothian Families with Diabetes.
The news comes following the company being presented the Community Involvement Award at the 2017 Garden Retail Awards last month.
Lothian Families with Diabetes will be fundraising at the local garden centre until the end of February next year, with a three month break over Christmas when Dobbies team up with a national charity partner across all stores.
Jayne Kirkpatrick, Community Champion at Dobbies Garden Centre, said: “We are all really looking forward to starting a new partnership with Lothian Families with Diabeteswe know our customers will get behind this cause and we hope to raise enough to make a real difference to the charity.”
Sue Cook, spokesman for Lothian Families with Diabetes, added: “Type 1 Diabetes in children is a life threatening condition which is often misunderstood and has an impact on siblings, parents, friends and school life. The partnership between Dobbies and Lothian Families with Type 1 Diabetes will make an immense difference to those living with Type 1 Diabetes in the Lothians and I’m particularly thrilled as the reach Dobbies has will ensure more people are aware of the help and support our group provides.”
