Police in Midlothian are appealing for witnesses following a series of break-ins in Bonnyrigg.

Four garages and sheds in Broomieknowe, Lasswade, Bonnyrigg were broken into overnight between Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th December.

A variety of property including tools and a blue-coloured pedal cycle, Whyte make, Aluminous model were stolen.

Sergeant Michele Lindsay said: “Theft by Housebreaking is a crime that significantly impacts on people’s lives I would ask people to review their security in light of these break-ins and to make sure they have taken adequate steps to protect their possessions.

“I would also like to reassure the community that we have a dedicated team of officers investigating these crimes and would urge anyone who saw any suspicious activity or has any information in relation to these incidents to please contact police immediately on 101, or alternatively the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
