Bonnyrigg charity shop donation remains a mystery

Volunteers at a Bonnyrigg charity shop are trying to trace the person who made a macabre donation last week.

The donor inadvertently handed in a vase containing someone’s ashes.

Staff at the Arthritis Research Campaign shop were sorting through a box of items, which had been brought into the Polton Street premises on Tuesday last week.

Volunteer Lena Skilbeck, who has worked at the ARC shop for 17 years, said: “We do get strange things handed in but this is the strangest.”
