Neither was there a hint of reindeer droppings when, ahead of Hallowe’en and Guy Fawkes Night, the Polton Street resident decked out his garden.

Thankfully the 57-year-old has not lost his marbles – he simply has so many decorations that it takes over a month to arrange them. And it’s all for a good cause - for after the lights are switched on on December 1, he will spend every day (from 3.30pm-9pm) collecting donations for Marie Curie Cancer Care while dressed as Santa. Keeping him warm through the cold winter shifts will be his ‘Mrs Claus’ wife Anne and her Elf sister Jean.
