A BONNYRIGG nursery was closed after a tree was blown onto its roof on Monday night.
Cockpen Nursery, used by Bright Sparks, the playgroup for children with additional needs, was closed on Tuesday and is expected to remain closed for the foreseeable future.
A Midlothian Council spokesman said: “Bright Sparks is organising alternative accommodation in the short term. We’re currently assessing the damage to the building and planning for the removal of the tree.”
A chimney was blown over at Glencorse Primary, Penicuik. The school was closed at the time and no-one was injured. There was no further damage caused and council was clearing the debris.
