Bonnyrigg had made a positive start to this crucial game pressing from the outset with corners testing the visiting defence and home keeper Mike Andrews a spectator for the first ten minutes.

Kerr Young put a glancing header just wide before a Scott Gray corner was scrambled clear by Ross Tierney.

Bonnyrigg’s first half chances went a begging but on the stroke of half time it took an absolutely stunning rocket shot from 25 yards from Ruaridh Donaldson to blast the ball into the Camelon net to finally break the deadlock and see the home fans come alive with one hand on the title.

Bonnyrigg had the ball in the net on the resumption but McGachie was deemed offside by referee Alan Hogg.

Increasingly Bonnyrigg understandably looked a wee bit frustrated seeking an elusive safety cushion secondgoal but it eventually came in the 62nd minute. With a superb finish from Lewis Turner sweeping into the back of the Camelon net for Rose’s 80th Super League goal of the season to ease the Rose 2-0 ahead with two hands on the title.

Andrew Kidd replaced goalscorer Turner who left the field to huge applause from the home fans.

And it was Andrew Kidd who put the icing on the Rose’s title cake with 10 minutes to go when a right wing move pushed up by Jon Brown saw him cross from the right into the middle where a bullet header from Kidd rattled the Camelon net to cue massive home celebrations at 3-0 to the Rose champions!
