Campaigners living in Danderhall, Hilltown, Millerhill and Newton Village are to attend a public meeting tonight (July 29) as part of efforts to reinstate a council-subsidised bus service that was axed in April.
The hourly 328 service had been relied on by villagers, including pensioners, for travel to Dalkeith or Musselburgh.
They say they have been cut-off and are now isolated.
Midlothian Council has since introduced a ‘ring and go’ taxi service, however it costs £1.50 per journey.
The meeting at Danderhall Community Centre is scheduled to begin at 7.30pm.
