Mayfield-based company NWH has acquired D J Laing’s waste management business in Dundee for an undisclosed sum.

The deal further strengthens NWH’s foothold in the Scottish market complementing its existing recycling facilities in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Midlothian.

Both parties have signed an agreement that will see the waste recycling business transfer to NWH during October. The business, under the ownership of NWH, will continue to trade as D J Laing Waste Management for an interim period.

Mark Williams, Managing Director, NWH Group, said: “We are delighted to have reached an agreement to purchase the Dundee operation as it fits perfectly with our strategic plans to grow our business into new geographical areas throughout Scotland.”

First established in 1967, NWH Group is a second generation family-run business.

The company has demonstrated strong growth in recent years and now employs 220 staff across four sites offering a variety of industrial services such as waste services, road sweepers, skip hire, plant hire and gritting services.
