A Midlothian pub, which was rebuilt after being destroyed in a fatal car crash, was a finalist for an industry award.
The Leadburn Inn was one of three businesses shortlisted in the
The winner, announced last week, was Si! in Irvine, Ayrshire.
In November 2005, a car crashed into the front of the historic inn killing the driver. The building was so badly damaged in the subsequent blaze it was demolished.
The premises were rebuilt with new proprietors Iain Dempster and Fiona Brown from Sirius Leisure taking charge last year.
Mr Dempster said: “We didn’t win but getting to the last three in Scotland was pretty good for a little pub in Midlothian.”
Judges were looking at how the businesses catered for all members of the family including activities for children, easy access and smaller portions for the elderly.
Mr Dempster said the Leadburn Inn’s ethos was a “country pub with proper food and real beer”.
