Midlothian and Scottish Borders councils have joined forces in an attempt to tackle the issue of dog fouling.
In a campaign aimed at promoting responsible dog ownership, the respective local authorities are sending out a clear message to ‘Bag it, Bin it’.
Councillor Russell Imrie (Lab), Midlothian Council cabinet member for Environmental Health, said: “Responsible dog owners are well aware that they need to clear up after their pet.
“It is the minority who refuse to accept that their dog’s mess is their responsibility.
“By working with Scottish Borders Council, we are able to maximise the impact of the campaign across both areas.”
